This is what TR Reneesh and KG Nijin from Kerala have set out to do.
The duo is on a cycle caravan trip across India to raise funds to build houses for at least five differently-abled people.
And all they are asking from people they meet during their journey is to contribute Re 1.
Called Mission One Rupee, the two friends started their journey from Kerala's Kasaragod in December 2021 and they will be on the road for the next two more years.
"We started our journey in December 2021, with an aim to raise funds to help differently-abled people who cannot fulfill their dream of owning a house. All throughout our journey we are asking people to contribute at least Re 1, to make this a reality. Our motto is - give one rupee - change somebody's life,"
Reneesh, a mobile phone mechanic from Wayanad, and his friend, Nijin, a high school teacher from Kozhikode started their journey on two bicycles. But the two bicycles have now been self-modified into a bicycle caravan which also doubles as their mobile house.
According to him, the idea of Mission One Rupee was a born from conversation with his friend about doing something to help the needy.
Initially, they planned to raise some funds to help some poor people with their medical treatments, but later they realised that providing homes to some homeless people was an even better cause.
On average, the duo is now covering 15-20 kms a day as they are in no rush and want their message to reach more people
"We start our day at around 9 am and try to meet the maximum number of people possible.
We also cook our breakfast and dinner on the cycle. In the evening we park the caravan at petrol pumps or other places with toilets, and we sleep inside this," he said.
